Hi, my name is Richard Evans-Lacey, welcome to my website.

There are a number of reasons why people find their way here: some have identified an issue in their life which causes them to experience uncomfortable emotions or inconvenience; others know that they want something but feel held back or blocked in some way. Some are actively looking for a London based hypnotherapist (hypnotist), psychotherapist or NLP Master Practitioner; others are simply curious about personal development. Whatever your motivation you have already taken the first step towards achieving the outcome you desire.

My qualifications and training

My personal style draws from a variety of different influences. In addition to my wider reading and exploration I have the following recognised qualifications, training and memberships:

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy (NLPt)
  • Double Certified Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming - Classical and Emergent NLP
  • Hypnosis (Hypnotherapy) trained to Master level
  • Time Line Therapy trained to Master level
  • Specialist in Metaphor Therapy / Clean Language / Direct Engagement Modeling
  • Member of the Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy and Counseling Association (NLPtCA)
  • Applying to become a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

Your outcomes

I believe that emotional discomfort, difficulty in life, releationship discord and the symptoms of physical dis-ease are all signs that we need to pay attention. The approaches I use can be effective for all issues with a psychological component including:

  • Generally high levels of 'negative' emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, guilt, grief, dread, anxiety, loneliness and jealousy
  • Self limiting beliefs such as "I'm not good enough", "I'm a failure", "I'm bad", "I can't ..."
  • Reactions such as panic attacks, phobias, erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, fear of public speaking,
  • Relationship with life events including bereavement, post-traumatic stress and recovery from physical and sexual abuse
  • General negative states of being such as depression, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, workplace stress, internal conflict and lack of direction
  • Addictions (giving up cigarettes or drugs), compulsions such as OCD
  • Food related issues such as weight loss, anorexia and bulimia
  • Relationship issues in the family, at work or at home including sexual relationships
  • Some clients find therapy has the side-effect of helping alleviate 'physical' illnesses such as IBS, skin complaints, back problems, selective deafness and postural issues

Our sessions together

You are the expert in you. The questions I ask will help you to explore yourself and release your potential. In metaphorical terms I will help you to come back to yourself by reconciling and re-uniting those parts that have become separate (e.g. emotional baggage, blocks, shields, bubbles, walls, lost children, lost hope, critics and observers). I will also help you let go of anything that doesn't belong to or serve you (e.g. other people's emotions, beliefs, disapproval and responsibility; unwanted attachments; black clouds; heavy weights; and other assorted 'weird' stuff).

Every session is different but may well include some modeling ("And whereabouts in your stomach is that knot?", "And when you see a bird, then what happens?); dialoguing ("And if Fred was here now ... what would you like to be able to say to him?"); time line work ("Imagine floating way up above your life ... and back to the first time that it ever happened ..."); spatial work ("Move to a space in the room that knows about ..."); visualisaiton ("And if you were to imagine being there now ..."); technique learning (such as 'ha' breathing, meridian tapping or peripheral vision); or even some time spent resting in 'nothing'.

As we work together our sessions tend to find their own natural flow. I make much use of my intuition (ideas from a higher place) and empathy (feeling your feelings). It is not unusual for clients to have some deep emotional release / spiritual experiences.
